People do not know what chlamydia is and where it comes from.
First of all, let us see what chlamydia is. This is a microorganism that is very similar in its properties to bacteriums, but is about as little as a viruse. One more important chlamydies peculiarity it lives inside cells of human or animals organism, exactly like viruses do. To cut a long story short ,chlamydia is a unique microbe. It is neither a viruse nor a bacterium, it is simply a chlamydia. An important feature of this microbe is its unique manner of life and an unique cycle of developement which does not have any analogies in nature. At the very beginning of its developement chlamydia is harmless. But then it aquires infectious properties and damages healthy cells. This is the beginning of a certain disease.
Chlamydia is not only one kind of microbes. There are about 30 its variants, which cause a great number of various diseases. These diseases have a long history, but microbiologists have managed to detect the true cause of these. It is worth noticing that some typical discriprions of diseases evidently caused by chlamydia have been found in papyruses dated 15 century B.C. And it is as well known that Horatio and Cicero suffered from clamidiosis.
What diseases does chlamydia cause?
The most known, the most dangerous and the most frequent disease is trachoma that is a chronic eyes ailment. People simply have learned how to identify it.Chlamydia is difficult to reveal. That is why it is very expensive and time-taking to find out whether you are infected or not.
