Sex and some particular conditions

Most people associate a sexually active person with a young man or woman whose sexual health is in a perfect order and who is able to have children. However, not only such perfect people need sex. Aged people, pregnant women, people who suffer from infertility all of them need intimate relationships. And all of them are prevented from normal sexual activity.

Sex at an advanced age

For some reason many people think that elderly people do not have sex and do not have even the need for it. However, results of scientific researches show that this opinion is erroneous.

Sexual activity at an advanced age depends on many factors, the most important being frequency of sex during the whole life and state of general, psychical and sexual health. It turns out that most people who got used to frequent sex contact continue active sex life even being older than 80. Many aged people feel a vital need for sex. What is more, sometimes they enjoy it even more than youngsters.

But there are some troubles which prevent aged people from enjoying active sex life. For example, somatic diseases, especially arthritis which makes any kind of motions painful. Often aged people suffer from cardiovascular diseases which require absolute rest without any, even the most minor physical activity.

Undoubtedly, there are some troubles related to socio-psychological aspect. The society created some certain standards of beauty and being sexually attractive. Aged people worry about their being not up to these standards and even get deeply depressed because of this. The fact is that people do not get more attractive with the increase of years. The older a person is the more difficulties he or she has in finding a sex partner. This is especially true with aged women whose number is much bigger then the number of elderly men.

Sex life of infertile people

Infertility does not seem to be an obstacle for normal sex life. However psychologists claim that this is not true. First of all the disease itself causes anxiety, despair and depression which in their turn greatly affect sex life.

Besides this, intimate relationships are prevented by infertility treatment. The point is that many necessary medical checkups must be performed immediately or in a short time after intercourse. This makes sex as delightful and romantic as usual and even unpleasant medical procedure.

Another trouble is that risky sexual behavior is very characteristic of infertile couples. They resort to occasional sex contacts and neglect measures of protection against sexually transmitted diseases thinking that this will help them solve their problems. There is no need to explain how such a behavior affects sexual health.

Sex and pregnancy

Sex and pregnancy

Another condition which makes obstacles for normal and regular sex life is pregnancy. Pregnancy causes various changes in a womans body and psyche: putting on weight, changes in hormonal balance, unusual behavior. These alterations make pregnant women consider that many things which used to be habitual before now can be harmful for the future baby. For example, there is an opinion that sex life during pregnancy is likely to result in miscarrying, premature delivery and even inborn defects.

However, according to scientific researches results, regular sex life does not affect course of pregnancy during the first two trimesters. There is only one problem intercourse might be painful for a pregnant woman. Of course, in this case sex contacts should be refrained from.

Sexual disorders during pregnancy are characteristic not only of a woman, but for her male partner as well. He, like his spouse, can be afraid to harm future baby and therefore avoids sex contacts. These fears are very likely to result in various purely male sexual health problems impotency and early ejaculation

All the three described above conditions pregnancy, infertility and advanced age are only a few examples of various factors which considerably affect sex life. There are other problems which make difficulties for having regular and delightful sex. These are physiological and psychological injuries, sexual health problems and other conditions and circumstances.

Many people when applying for medical help even do not mention their problems related to sex, but in vain. They should by no means think that their problems are natural and unavoidable. Most of such troubles can be coped with. Just apply to a sexologist. You will see that there is nothing impossible. Everyone can enjoy regular and delightful sex!
